The UP Cabinet will meet today (July 6) under CM Yogi at the CM’s residence. The Cabinet is likely to clear more than 21 proposals. These include a new Startup Policy, cashless healthcare for Home Guards, a proposal to rename Jalalabad as Parshurampuri, and plans to set up universities in three districts.
Home Guards to Get Cashless Treatment
The Cabinet may approve free cashless treatment of up to Rs 5 lakh for around 1.60 lakh Home Guards and their dependent family members. The decision will extend health coverage to thousands of personnel serving across the state.
Teachers May Get Rs 1 Crore Accident Insurance
The government may also approve accident insurance of up to Rs 1 crore for teachers and employees of government primary and upper primary schools. The Cabinet may also clear a proposal to provide gratuity to teachers of aided Arabic and Persian madrasas if they die before reaching the retirement age.
Pay Panel Recommendations Likely to Get Approval
The Cabinet may approve the recommendations of the committee headed by the Chief Secretary on the 2016 Pay Committee report for the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Audit Service. It may also allow the release of municipal bonds for Gorakhpur and Moradabad. The proposal includes a state guarantee to support Gorakhpur Municipal Corporation through credit rating enhancement from the Infrastructure Development Fund.

Gorakhpur Hospital, Varanasi Ropeway Proposal on Agenda
The Cabinet may approve land for a 100-bed hospital in Gorakhpur. It may also consider a proposal to provide land to the Varanasi Development Authority for the ropeway pilot project in Varanasi. Other proposals include approval of the Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) operation and maintenance policy under the Panchayati Raj Department and amendments to the Uttar Pradesh Probation Officer Gazetted Service Rules, 2026.
