UP is rapidly gaining recognition as a major destination for film production alongside its rich cultural, historical, and religious heritage. State Information Commissioner Dr Dileep Agnihotri said that the state has created an excellent environment for film shooting, and filmmakers should make full use of the opportunities available here.
UP Becoming a Preferred Choice for Filmmakers
Dr Agnihotri visited the film set at La Martiniere School in Lucknow and interacted with the film unit. He met film director Hansal Mehta, Danish, and several new artists associated with the project. During the interaction, he discussed their experiences and said that the efforts made over the past few years have helped UP become a preferred destination for filmmakers.
He said that UP offers a wide range of locations for film production, including religious sites, natural landscapes, historical monuments, and cultural centres. Recognising these strengths, the state government has granted industry status to films and expanded facilities for film shooting.
New Film Policy Strengthens Industry Growth
Dr. Agnihotri also highlighted that the state introduced a new film policy to encourage investment, improve infrastructure, and develop resources needed for film production. He said the government continues to work on these goals and expressed confidence that UP will soon establish itself as one of India’s leading film production centers.
Under the leadership of CM Yogi, UP has witnessed progress across multiple sectors. The state has improved its road network, expanded expressways, strengthened law and order, and attracted significant investments. The government has also focused on digital services, industrial development, tourism, healthcare, and infrastructure projects. These efforts have helped create new employment opportunities and improved public services, contributing to the state’s overall growth and development.
