On Friday (June 13), UP CM Yogi Adityanath took a swipe at Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and asked him to teach his supporters to use respectful language before lecturing others.
Speaking at a public event, Yogi said that if Akhilesh Yadav cannot control the behaviour and language of his supporters, he should leave the task to the government.
“Akhilesh ji, please advise your followers to control their language. If you cannot teach them, hand them over to us, and we will explain it to them properly,” the Chief Minister said.
Yogi Condemns Remarks Against Aditi Yadav
Referring to the recent controversy over alleged objectionable social media posts targeting Akhilesh Yadav’s daughter, Aditi Yadav, the CM said that no one should make insulting comments against any daughter.
Yogi said he immediately directed the police to register an FIR after the matter came to his notice. He stressed that society must treat all daughters with respect and dignity.
“Making offensive remarks against any daughter is unacceptable. Our culture teaches us to respect women and daughters. A daughter of a village belongs to the entire village, and everyone must protect her dignity,” he said.
Government Does Not Discriminate Against Daughters: CM
The CM said that his government does not discriminate against daughters and has launched several schemes for their welfare.
He claimed that the state government provides support for girls from birth to graduation through various welfare and education programs.
FIR Registered in Social Media Case
The controversy began after allegedly misleading and objectionable content about Aditi Yadav circulated on social media. Following a complaint, the Cyber Crime Police Station in Kanpur registered an FIR and started an investigation.
Advocate Praveen Yadav, the complainant and National Secretary of the Samajwadi Party’s Advocates’ Wing, alleged that some individuals spread false information to damage Aditi Yadav’s image.
According to the complaint, a social media post that went viral on June 9 carried misleading claims about her. Police have named three individuals in the FIR and are investigating the matter.
