A new controversy has erupted over the statements made by Jyotirmath Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati during his recent visit to Ayodhya. Saint Ashutosh Brahmachari has submitted a complaint at the Ram Janmabhoomi police station and demanded that the police register an FIR against the seer. He has also called for a fair investigation into the matter.
Jyotirmath Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati is already in the spotlight for several reasons, including politically supporting the Samajwadi Party, using his Cow Yatra for political purposes, and attacking CM Yogi for his personal benefits.
Questions Raised Over Government Protocol
Ashutosh Brahmachari alleged that Swami Avimukteshwaranand identified himself as the Shankaracharya of Jyotirmath and Badrikashram to receive government protocol during his visit. He claimed that the dispute over the Shankaracharya title is still pending before a court.
He asked authorities to investigate how officials granted government protocol despite the ongoing legal dispute.
Objection to Hanumangarhi Remarks
The complaint also objects to the seer’s remarks about Hanumangarhi. Ashutosh Brahmachari said the statement could trigger a religious dispute. He urged authorities to conduct an impartial inquiry into the remarks.
Campaign and Ram Lalla Remark Under Scrutiny
The complainant also questioned the campaign that seeks to declare the cow as the national mother. He asked officials to examine the campaign’s objectives, speeches, and promotional material.
He also raised objections to Swami Avimukteshwaranand’s reported remarks about the idol of Ram Lalla at the Ram Janmabhoomi temple. According to the complaint, the seer referred to the idol as a “black stone” during media interactions and public events. Ashutosh Brahmachari claimed that the remark hurt the religious sentiments of millions of Lord Ram devotees.
Complaint Also Mentions Minor Students
The complaint further says that organisers included some minor students from Sanskrit gurukuls in public events during the Ayodhya visit. Ashutosh Brahmachari said this may have affected their education, safety, and legal rights. He requested a separate investigation into this issue.
Ram Janmabhoomi police have received the complaint. Police said they will examine the allegations and take legal action based on the findings of the investigation.
