The 39-hour police remand of Ram Shankar Yadav, also known as Tinnu Yadav, and his nephew Manish Yadav ended on Sunday (July 20) night. Police produced both accused before the court after completing their interrogation. The court then sent them back to judicial custody. Investigators questioned the duo about the alleged theft of donations from the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya.
Tinnu Yadav Allegedly Admits to Key Role
According to investigators, Tinnu Yadav admitted that he played a central role in the alleged theft. During the interrogation, police questioned him about the temple donation boxes, the missing cash, and the keys used to access the collection system. Officers also asked how the money moved out of the temple premises. Police continue to verify every claim with evidence gathered during the investigation.
Police Take Accused to Temple and Residence
As part of the investigation, police took Tinnu Yadav and Manish Yadav to the Ram Janmabhoomi complex and later to Tinnu’s house. Officers recreated the sequence of events and checked several locations linked to the alleged theft. Investigators also inspected evidence collected during earlier searches.
No Special Treatment in Jail
Officials said jail authorities did not provide any VIP treatment to Tinnu Yadav. He stayed in a regular barrack like other inmates and followed normal prison rules. Authorities denied reports that he received any special facilities inside the jail.
Probe Focuses on Keys, Money Trail
The investigation has shifted to the alleged misuse of the donation box keys and the movement of the stolen money. Police suspect Tinnu Yadav had unauthorised access to the keys and the donation counting area. Investigators have also seized vehicles that they believe were purchased with the misappropriated funds. They continue to examine the financial trail and the role of other suspects in the case.

Investigation Continues
The Ayodhya Police and the Special Investigation Team (SIT) continue to investigate the alleged embezzlement of Ram Mandir donations. Officials say they will examine all evidence before filing the final chargesheet. The case has already led to multiple arrests and remains under close scrutiny.
