The alleged theft of donations from the Ram Temple in Ayodhya has remained in the spotlight over the past several days. The UP Police have arrested all eight accused named in the FIR, while the Special Investigation Team (SIT) continues its investigation. In a major development, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust General Secretary Champat Rai resigned on moral grounds, and trustee Anil Mishra also stepped down amid the controversy. The state government has said the probe will continue without any interference.
Addressing a public gathering in Deoria, UP CM Yogi urged people not to test the faith of millions of Ram devotees. He said anyone with evidence should submit it to the SIT instead of making public allegations. He described Ayodhya as a symbol of India’s faith and said the government had acted immediately after receiving the SIT’s preliminary report.
“The truth will come out. Milk will be separated from water,” the Chief Minister said. He also claimed that those making baseless allegations did not have good intentions.
Government Follows Zero-Tolerance Policy
Yogi Adityanath said his government takes any attempt to misuse public faith very seriously. He said no one would receive protection if found guilty and promised strict action against anyone involved in the alleged theft of devotees’ donations.
The CM said the government formed the SIT as soon as complaints emerged. After the investigation moved forward, police registered an FIR and arrested all eight accused. He added that the resignations of Champat Rai and trustee Anil Mishra reflected accountability while the investigation continued. He assured the public that the law would take its course and that no guilty person would escape punishment.
Criticises Those Questioning Ram Temple
The CM also criticised those raising questions about the Ram Temple issue. He said some people had earlier denied the existence of Lord Ram and even questioned Ayodhya itself. According to him, the same people were now trying to create confusion over an issue closely linked to the faith of millions of devotees.
He repeated that anyone who tries to play with public faith or insult Sanatan traditions will face strict legal action under the state’s zero-tolerance policy.
Development and Infrastructure Remain the Government’s Focus
Highlighting his government’s achievements, Yogi said better roads, railway connectivity, skilled manpower and improved water resources help speed up development. He said UP continues to attract investment because of better infrastructure and improved law and order.
The CM said the state has one of the world’s youngest populations and that its youth have the talent and energy to achieve great success. He added that the government has provided jobs to nearly nine lakh young people and continues to create employment through new industries and investments.
Investment and Strong Law and Order
Yogi Adityanath said Deoria, Gorakhpur and Kushinagar are attracting fresh investments, creating new jobs for local youth. He also said his government has transformed the law-and-order situation in UP through strict policing and a zero-tolerance approach to crime.
Referring to Muharram, the CM said celebrations remained peaceful because the government did not allow anyone to disturb public order or create unrest. He concluded by saying that Uttar Pradesh would continue to protect public faith, ensure a fair investigation into the Ram Temple donation case and take strict action against anyone found guilty while continuing its development journey.
