The political battle between Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav has intensified once again. While addressing a public meeting in Hathras, CM Yogi directly challenged Akhilesh Yadav to speak openly on the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi issue. In response, Akhilesh, during his visit to Prayagraj, attacked the BJP government over Sanatan Dharma and the ongoing controversy surrounding donations at the Ram Temple.
CM Yogi Throws Open Challenge on Krishna Janmabhoomi
Addressing the gathering in Hathras, CM Yogi challenged Akhilesh Yadav to clarify his stand on Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi. He said that if Akhilesh had the courage, he should openly support the movement for the liberation of Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi, just as the Ram Janmabhoomi movement succeeded.
The CM also advised Akhilesh not to worry about Ayodhya but to introspect and seek the blessings of Ram Lalla. He said that such a visit might help him gain wisdom. Yogi further remarked that Akhilesh lacked the courage to make such a statement because he remained focused on appeasing certain sections instead of speaking for the faith of the majority.
Yogi Targets SP’s Politics
Continuing his attack, CM Yogi accused the Samajwadi Party of having no development agenda. He alleged that the party only knew how to appease clerics for political gains. Taking a sharp dig, Yogi said Akhilesh Yadav now perfectly fit the saying, “a frustrated person lashes out without reason.”
Akhilesh Attacks BJP Over Ram Temple Donations
During his visit to Prayagraj, Akhilesh Yadav claimed that the Samajwadi Party wanted to protect Sanatan Dharma but would not allow anyone to misuse religion for personal interests. Referring to the Ram Temple donation controversy, he alleged that several news channels had raised questions over the issue. He also said that public attention should not shift away from the paper leak issue.

However, the Samajwadi Party has consistently opposed the Ram Temple movement in the past and rarely supported issues concerning Hindu faith. Political observers believe Akhilesh’s renewed focus on the Ram Temple reflects an attempt to gain political mileage ahead of future elections.
Plans to Visit Ayodhya
Replying to questions about visiting Ayodhya, Akhilesh said that the Kedareshwar Temple under construction in Etawah would be completed first. After that, he would travel to Ayodhya for darshan.
With the Ram Temple remaining at the centre of UP’s political discourse, Akhilesh’s latest remarks suggest that even the Samajwadi Party now finds it difficult to stay away from Lord Ram and Ayodhya as electoral issues continue to dominate the state’s political landscape.
