Ahead of Bakrid, the Sambhal administration has stepped up security arrangements across the district. After strict guidelines from UP CM Yogi Adityanath, police and administrative teams moved into alert mode.
Heavy police deployment and flag marches took place in sensitive areas, major markets and mixed-population localities.
On Monday (May 25) evening, police presence suddenly increased across Sambhal city. District Magistrate Ankit Khandelwal and SP Krishna Kumar Bishnoi personally led the march along with senior officials and police personnel.
Foot March in Markets and Sensitive Areas
Police and administrative officers carried out foot marches in key markets, crowded areas and sensitive localities. Officials interacted with shopkeepers and local residents and appealed to them to maintain peace and harmony during the festival.
During the flag march, the administration said that Bakrid celebrations should follow traditional practices and government rules. Police forces are deployed heavily at major places and crowded areas.
Strict Action After CM Yogi’s Guidelines
Recently, CM Yogi Adityanath reviewed law and order arrangements with senior officials and issued strict directions regarding Bakrid preparations.
The CM said authorities will not allow animal sacrifice at public places.
Officials will also strictly ban the sacrifice of prohibited animals. The administration has also received instructions to prevent any new traditions during the festival.
Officials have also remained alert regarding rules related to namaz on roads and the use of loudspeakers.
Sambhal Divided Into 5 Zones and 12 Sectors
DM Ankit Khandelwal said the administration divided the district into five zones and 12 sectors to keep celebrations peaceful. Authorities have given separate officers to every sector and deployed extra police force in sensitive areas.
He said people will offer namaz at a large number of places across the district. The administration has strengthened security arrangements at all locations.
According to officials, namaz will take place at 728 locations in Sambhal district, while there are 107 Eidgah sites. In total, prayers will be offered at 835 places. Police personnel have been deployed at all these locations.
Peace Committee Meetings Held Across District
The administration has already completed peace committee meetings across the district. During these meetings, officials informed religious leaders, traders and local representatives about all guidelines.
Authorities requested people to follow loudspeaker rules and perform animal sacrifice only at fixed places. Officials also coordinated with municipal teams regarding cleanliness and waste disposal during the festival.
SP Krishna Kumar Bishnoi said police teams are also monitoring social media platforms. He warned that authorities will take strict action against anyone spreading rumours or trying to disturb communal harmony.
The administration said it aims to ensure that Bakrid takes place peacefully and without any law and order issues in the district.
