On Saturday (May 9), UP CM Yogi Adityanath attended Suvendu Adhikari’s oath-taking ceremony in West Bengal. After taking the oath as CM, Suvendu folded his hands and greeted Yogi on stage. Yogi congratulated him and draped a saffron stole around his shoulders.
The video of this wonderful gesture and respect for each other is viral on social media. CM Yogi played a major role in the Bengal Election. He rallied in 35 constituencies, in which the BJP won 31. It proved that CM Yogi is a firebrand leader and campaigner of the BJP, and people across the state wait for his presence during the election.
As soon as Yogi reached the stage, BJP workers welcomed him with loud applause. People at the venue raised slogans and cheered his arrival. Chants of “Jai Shri Ram” echoed across the ground. CM Yogi raised his hand and greeted the crowd.
PM Narendra Modi also met several chief ministers and senior leaders on the stage. UP Cabinet Minister Sanjay Nishad greeted him with folded hands. Modi walked up to him and briefly exchanged words.
Large NDA Presence at Brigade Parade Ground
The swearing-in ceremony took place at Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata. More than 15 leaders from UP attended the event. Dy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak had arrived in Kolkata on Friday (May 8) night.

On the stage, Yogi sat in the front row along with Bihar CM Samrat Choudhary and Delhi CM Rekha Gupta. Both deputy chief ministers from UP and Minister Sanjay Nishad also sat together.
Union Minister Anupriya Patel, Panchayati Raj Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar, and former Amethi MP Smriti Irani were also present.
Senior NDA leaders also attended the ceremony. These included Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister J.P. Nadda, BJP national president Nitin Navin, and several other senior leaders.
