On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed appointment letters to more than 51,000 newly selected candidates under the 19th edition of the Rozgar Mela through video conferencing. The recruits joined different government departments, including railways, banking, defence, health and education.
Addressing the newly appointed employees, PM said the day marked an important moment in India’s development journey. He said the youth would now play a direct role in building a “Viksit Bharat” or developed India.
He congratulated the candidates and their families. He also said that behind every success stands the support of society and the contribution of 140 crore Indians. Modi reminded the recruits that government service brings greater responsibility toward the people and the nation.
PM Talks About Global Opportunities for Indian Youth
During his speech, the Prime Minister referred to his recent five-nation visit and said global leaders showed strong interest in India’s young talent and technology sector. He said discussions during the visit focused on creating more opportunities for Indian youth at the international level.
According to Modi, agreements signed with countries like the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, United Arab Emirates and Italy will help Indian professionals and skilled workers in the coming years.
Semiconductor Deal and New Industries
PM highlighted a major partnership between Tata Group and ASML. He described the agreement as a historic step for India’s semiconductor sector.
He said only a few countries in the world have such partnerships with ASML. Modi added that the deal would create many new jobs and strengthen India’s position in next-generation technology.
The Prime Minister also said India is rapidly expanding sectors such as clean energy, green hydrogen, semiconductors and sustainable manufacturing. He announced that the government is investing around Rs 75,000 crore to develop the ship-building, repair and aviation maintenance ecosystem in the country.
According to him, the investment will create large-scale employment opportunities for engineers and skilled workers.
Growth in Villages and Startup Culture
Modi said infrastructure development over the last 12 years has transformed villages across the country. He pointed to the expansion of highways, railways, airports and ports as major drivers of rural growth.
He explained that better roads, electricity and connectivity now allow villagers to start small businesses and value-added industries instead of only selling raw products.
The Prime Minister also praised India’s startup ecosystem. He said India has become the world’s third-largest startup hub, with more than 2.3 lakh registered startups. He added that young people and women from tier-2 and tier-3 cities are leading this startup movement.
Calling the new recruits “Karmayogis,” Modi urged them to keep learning through the iGOT Karmayogi platform and work with the spirit of “Citizen First.” He expressed confidence that the youth would help India achieve the goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047.
