‘Crushed the Mafia and Gave Bundelkhand a New Identity’: CM Yogi in Mahoba

Yogi Adityanath said Mahoba should gain recognition through tourism and its stone industry. He said the stone produced in the region contributes to nation-building.

CM Yogi Adityanath visited Mahoba and inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 88 development projects worth more than ₹697 crore. During the event, he spoke about the development of Bundelkhand, water conservation, better connectivity, and progress in the defence sector.

He also criticised the opposition and said that people with a negative mindset cannot accept development and positive change.

The CM said that his government ended mafia rule in Bundelkhand and connected the region with expressways, irrigation projects, and investment opportunities.

Praises Mahoba’s Heritage and Desawari Paan

Yogi Adityanath said Mahoba should gain recognition through tourism and its stone industry. He said the stone produced in the region contributes to nation-building.

He also praised Mahoba’s famous Desawari paan and recalled the region’s rich history. He mentioned the bravery of Alha and Udal and said Guru Gorakhnath had worshipped in the area for a long time. He added that the state government helped Desawari paan receive a Geographical Indication (GI) tag and global recognition.

‘We Crushed the Mafia and Brought Development’

The CM said Bundelkhand once suffered because land and mining mafias dominated the region. He said his government fulfilled its promise to eliminate mafia influence and connect Bundelkhand with modern infrastructure.

Yogi said he always feels happy to visit Mahoba and Charkhari because of the ongoing water conservation work. He added that the government would continue efforts inspired by the water management systems built by the Chandela rulers.

Highlights BrahMos and Farmer Compensation

The Chief Minister said the BrahMos missile manufactured in Bundelkhand has strengthened India’s defence capabilities. Referring to Operation Sindoor, he said the missile’s use created fear in Pakistan.

He also said farmers in Kabrai had given land for a dam project but had not received compensation for many years. His government ensured that those farmers received their dues. He warned that people who play with the future of young people would soon face action.

Ken-Betwa Project to Solve Water Problems

Yogi Adityanath said earlier governments failed to improve connectivity in districts such as Mahoba, Banda, Jhansi, and Hamirpur. He said development projects remained stalled and law and order suffered.

He highlighted the Ken-Betwa Link Project and said it is close to completion. According to him, the project will help solve the long-standing water shortage in Bundelkhand.

Sharp Attack on Opposition

From Mahoba, the Chief Minister launched a strong attack on opposition parties. He said people who encourage encroachment and spread negativity have a polluted mindset and cannot accept progress.

He argued that such thinking kept Uttar Pradesh away from development for many years. Yogi said his government works with a positive approach focused on good governance and development, while the opposition continues to spread confusion and negativity.
