Ram Temple Donation Scam: Lavkush Mishra Held, CM Yogi Warns No Guilty Person Will Be Spared

The SIT has taken Lavkush Mishra, an employee of the temple's cash counting room, into custody for questioning. Investigators are trying to find out how the alleged scam took place and who was involved.

In a latest move, UP CM Yogi Adityanath has ordered strict action in the alleged Ram Temple donation scam. During his visit to Ayodhya, CM Yogi said that no guilty person would be spared.

He said devotees waited nearly 500 years for the Ram Temple and anyone who played with the faith of devotees would face action. His statement has increased pressure on everyone linked to the case.

SIT and Police Increase Action

After the Chief Minister’s order, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) and local police geared up the investigation.

The SIT has taken Lavkush Mishra, an employee of the temple’s cash counting room, into custody for questioning. Investigators are trying to find out how the alleged scam took place and who was involved.

Cash Recovered During Searches

Sources say the SIT recovered around Rs 10 to 12 lakh in cash and some property-related documents during searches linked to Lavkush Mishra.

Investigators also found that part of the money was allegedly hidden behind cow-dung cakes at his house.

More People Under Questioning

The investigation is not limited to one person. Police and SIT have also questioned Anukalp Mishra and several other temple employees. Officials believe more people may have helped in the alleged scam.

Senior Trust Members Also Questioned

The probe has now reached senior people linked to the temple trust.

According to sources, the SIT has questioned Champat Rai, General Secretary of the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, and trust member Anil Mishra. Investigators asked them questions about the case and temple operations.

Officials also kept some controversial faces away from the Chief Minister’s public programmes in Ayodhya. Many see this as a sign that the government wants a fair investigation.

CM Yogi Gives 15-Day Deadline

CM Yogi said the government formed the SIT soon after the trust requested an inquiry.

He said Ram devotees waited 500 years for the temple and can wait a few more days for the truth. He expressed confidence that the SIT would complete its work and bring out the facts within 15 days.

The CM also asked people to share any documents or evidence related to the case with the SIT. He said the government would act on every genuine piece of evidence.

More Action Likely

The government has made it clear that it is treating the matter seriously. The SIT and police continue to question suspects and check financial records.

Sources say the next few days could be important as investigators may question more people and take further action in the case. Officials say no one will get special treatment if evidence shows their involvement.
