‘Akhilesh Yadav’s SP Faces Major Split’, UP Cabinet Minister Makes Big Claim

In the same post, Rajbhar advised Akhilesh Yadav to explore tourist and religious destinations across India. He said the country has changed and that a “New India” and a “New Uttar Pradesh” are setting new standards of development.

UP Cabinet Minister and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief Om Prakash Rajbhar has claimed that the Samajwadi Party (SP) could face a major split in the coming months. He said many SP leaders are ready to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Rajbhar made the statement while political discussions about defections continue in states like Maharashtra and West Bengal.

His remarks have triggered a fresh political debate in UP, where parties have already started preparing for the 2027 Assembly elections. Reacting to the claim, SP president Akhilesh Yadav took a swipe at Rajbhar and said, “How long will this story of grain and song continue?”

SP Rejects Rajbhar’s Claim

The Samajwadi Party strongly dismissed Rajbhar’s statement. SP spokesperson Sunil Sajan said BJP leaders and their allies have become nervous. He accused Rajbhar of making such remarks only to remain politically relevant.

Sajan said the SP reduced BJP’s strength in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and would remove the party from power in UP in 2027. He also claimed that Rajbhar’s party would struggle to win even a single seat in the next Assembly election. According to Sajan, Rajbhar often makes such statements without any basis.

Keshav Maurya Says 25–26 SP MPs Ready to Switch

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, while speaking to the media in Kanpur, claimed that 25 to 26 Members of Parliament from the Samajwadi Party are currently ready to switch sides and break away from the party. Referring to the splits that took place in the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Shiv Sena, BJP leaders have suggested that a similar division could emerge within the SP.

Maurya clarified that the BJP is not actively trying to break the Samajwadi Party at present. However, he claimed that by the time the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections arrive, these leaders would leave the party on their own. Amid this ongoing political battle, leaders also exchanged remarks over the Ram Temple issue.

Rajbhar Targets SP Leadership

Rajbhar also attacked the SP leadership and said SP leaders are feeling pressure as investigations in several cases move forward. He referred to the alleged mining scam and the Gomti River Front project and said people in Uttar Pradesh know who remained at the centre of these controversies.

He claimed that as investigations progress, the discomfort of some leaders is increasing. However, Rajbhar did not provide any evidence to support his claim of a possible split in the Samajwadi Party. He also mentioned senior SP leader Ram Gopal Yadav and said that Yadav had written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Rajbhar and Akhilesh Continue War of Words

This is not the first time Rajbhar has targeted Akhilesh Yadav. The two leaders have exchanged sharp remarks on several occasions in recent months. Earlier, Rajbhar posted a long message on social media platform X and criticised Akhilesh’s foreign trips.

He said that instead of visiting London and Paris, Akhilesh should have travelled to places such as Kashi, Ayodhya, Mathura, Naimisharanya, and Vindhyavasini Dham. Rajbhar argued that such visits would have helped local businesses and promoted tourism in Uttar Pradesh.

‘See the New India and New Uttar Pradesh’

In the same post, Rajbhar advised Akhilesh Yadav to explore tourist and religious destinations across India. He said the country has changed and that a “New India” and a “New Uttar Pradesh” are setting new standards of development.

Rajbhar highlighted improvements in tourism and infrastructure from Kashi and Ayodhya to several northeastern states. He said India’s cultural heritage, religious centers, and historical sites are so vast that one lifetime may not be enough to explore them all.
