On June 16, Police in Prayagraj Commissionerate’s Yamunanagar Zone have solved the triple murder case that took place. Investigators found that the main accused, Himanshu Yadav, planned the killings after his girlfriend’s family refused to allow their marriage. Police arrested five people in connection with the crime.

Main Accused Injured During Recovery Operation

According to DCP Yamunanagar Zone Vivek Chandra Yadav, police took Himanshu Yadav to a bushy area near Parainipur to recover the murder weapon. During the operation, Himanshu snatched a sub-inspector’s pistol and opened fire. Police returned fire, and a bullet hit Himanshu in the leg. Doctors admitted him to a hospital for treatment.

Three Family Members Murdered

The murders took place late Monday night in Kukurkatwa village under Meja police station limits. The victims were identified as 65-year-old Shyamlal alias Kallu, 62-year-old Amaravati, and 60-year-old Indravati.

Amaravati and Indravati were the wives of Shyamlal’s brothers. The attackers struck all three victims on the head with a heavy object, causing their deaths.

Technical Evidence Led Police to the Accused

Police registered an FIR based on a complaint from the victims’ family members. Investigators used technical and scientific evidence to track down the accused.

The investigation revealed that Himanshu had spoken to Shyamlal on the phone around 10:15 pm on the night of the murders. Police also found photographs of Himanshu and a girl from the victim’s family on his Facebook account.

Love Affair Behind the Crime

Police said Himanshu wanted to marry the minor daughter of Shyamlal’s brother. About four months ago, the two had run away from home, creating tension in the village.

Village head Guddu Yadav later helped both families reach a settlement. However, the girl’s family refused to agree to the marriage. Police believe this rejection angered Himanshu and motivated him to plan the murders.

Three Men Carried Out the Attack

Investigators said Himanshu Yadav, along with his friends Nihal Gautam and Rajan, carried out the killings. The three allegedly attacked the victims with bamboo stakes and killed them.

Police also arrested Himanshu’s brother, Ankit Yadav for helping him after the crime.

Village Head Among Those Arrested

Police arrested village head Guddu Yadav as well. Officers accused him of not informing police about the earlier dispute and settlement between the two families. The total number of arrests in the case has reached five.

Police Crack Case Within 12 Hours

Police solved the triple murder case within 12 hours. Investigators recovered the murder weapon based on information provided by the accused.

Officials said a failed love affair led to the deaths of three members of the same family. Police have now arrested all the accused linked to the crime.
