A shocking event has come to light in the Mughalsarai Kotwali area of Chandauli district. A Samajwadi Party (SP) woman leader allegedly got caught with another SP leader by family members. The incident quickly turned violent and created chaos in the village.
According to local sources, the incident took place on Thursday (May 28) in Madhiya village. SP Mahila Morcha district president Gargi Patel was allegedly present with former block pramukh and SP leader Pyarelal when family members reached the spot.
Family Members Beat Woman Leader
Eyewitnesses said the situation became tense within minutes. The wife of the SP leader reportedly arrived there along with her children. Soon after, a heated argument broke out and turned into physical violence.
Locals said that two young men and a woman attacked Gargi Patel with sticks and household objects. They also pulled her hair, abused her, and even hit her with a table. This went for several minutes, leaving her seriously injured.
When Gargi Patel’s daughter tried to save her, she also reportedly faced assault during the fight.
Woman Leader Seriously Injured
People from nearby houses gathered at the spot after hearing loud shouting and chaos. Someone informed the police, following which officers reached the village and brought several people to the police outpost for questioning.
The injured SP woman leader was first taken for medical help and later admitted to the district hospital in Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Nagar. Doctors are currently treating her injuries.
Political Discussion Intensifies
Since the people involved belong to the SP, the matter has triggered strong reactions inside political circles. Party workers and local leaders have started discussing the incident openly.
Some SP leaders called the matter a personal dispute and appealed against politicising it. However, several party workers said such incidents damage the image of the party, especially when elections are approaching.
Police Investigation Started
Police have started investigating the case and are recording statements from both sides. Police said they will examine every allegation carefully before taking further action.
The incident has also brought a wider discussion in the area, with many residents expressing concern over rising SP violent confrontations within party.
