UP STF Arrests Chhote Lal Yadav for Taking ₹10–15 Lakh from UP Police Constable Recruitment Aspirants

According to STF officials, the gang promised candidates that they would help them clear recruitment exams. The accused collected a large amount of money from candidates in return.

The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) has exposed a gang that was cheating in the UP Police Constable Recruitment Exam 2025. The STF arrested two accused, Raju Kumar Manjhi and Chhote Lal Yadav, for their alleged role in the racket.

What STF Says?

During the operation, the STF recovered copies of 21 admit cards, two mobile phones, three cheque copies, three Aadhaar cards, four mark sheet copies, and 13 suspicious WhatsApp chats. Officials believe these materials were used to contact candidates and arrange illegal deals.

According to STF officials, the gang promised candidates that they would help them clear recruitment exams. The accused collected a large amount of money from candidates in return. Investigators say the gang also took admit cards and other documents from applicants before the exam.

The STF team tracked the suspects and arrested them from the Badagaon area of Jaunpur district. During questioning, the accused allegedly admitted that they were involved in similar activities linked to police recruitment and other competitive exams.

Police records show that Raju Kumar Manjhi was previously accused in a job fraud case. He was sent to jail in 2022 for allegedly cheating people by promising government jobs. After coming out of jail, he is suspected of restarting similar activities.

10 to 15 Lakh for Exam Success

Investigators say candidates were charged between ₹10 lakh and ₹15 lakh for promises of exam success. The STF is now checking whether more people were involved in the network and if similar fraud took place in other recruitment exams.

Officials have urged candidates to stay away from such offers and rely only on fair and legal methods to secure government jobs. The investigation is continuing, and more arrests may follow.

The Yogi Adityanath government has repeatedly said it is taking strict action against paper leak gangs and cheating mafias. The government claims these actions have weakened many such networks and forced some operators to move out of UP.

This network was involved in cheating systems operated during earlier governments led by Mulayam Singh Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav. However, since 2017, the state government says it has intensified efforts to dismantle remaining paper leak and cheating networks.
