A shocking murder case in Uttar Pradesh’s Greater Noida has sparked anger and tension after police revealed details about the killing of 15-year-old Gopal Sharma. The teenager, who belonged to Banwari Bans village in the Jewar police station area, went missing on May 21, 2026. A day later, police recovered his body from another village located nearly four kilometres away.

The murder made locals and people on social media very angry. Family members said the boy was tortured before he died. Gopal’s father, Ravi Bhushan, also known as Bunty, said the killers were very cruel and wanted the police to take strong action. The case quickly became a big topic in the area, with many people calling for fast arrests.

After several days of investigation, UP Police claimed to have solved the murder case. According to police officials, the accused were not strangers but people living in the same neighbourhood as the victim. Investigators said the crime grew out of an old dispute involving Gopal’s grandmother.

Police said Gopal’s grandmother had recently scolded the accused for making the teenager smoke hookah mixed with tobacco. The warning reportedly angered the accused. Officers believe the group later planned to take revenge against the boy and his family.

Police Encounter

According to the police investigation, the accused first called Gopal and again made him smoke hookah. They then allegedly took him to an abandoned building in a nearby area. There, the attackers repeatedly smashed his head against a wall. Police said the injuries caused his death.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of Greater Noida announced on X that police had solved the murder case and arrested three accused after an encounter in the Jewar area. During the gunfight, two accused — identified as Naresh and Umesh — suffered bullet injuries in their legs. Police later admitted them to a hospital for treatment.

Authorities have not yet released complete details about the third accused, but officials confirmed that all three remain in police custody. Investigators are now questioning them to gather more information about the planning and motive behind the crime.

The case also drew attention because of claims made by the victim’s family about the condition of Gopal’s body. However, police later rejected reports of extreme mutilation. DCP Praveen Ranjan Singh said doctors conducted a full postmortem examination and recorded videography of the process. According to him, the medical report did not confirm several of the disturbing allegations made earlier.

Bulldozer Action

Meanwhile, local authorities also carried out bulldozer action at properties linked to the accused. The move came amid heavy police deployment in the area to prevent tension or protests.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing and further legal action will follow. The murder of the teenager has once again raised concerns over juvenile violence, local disputes, and growing anger among families in the region.
