Rajnath Singh Praises Yogi Government, Says UP Has Moved From ‘One District, One Mafia’ to ‘One District, One Product

Addressing the gathering, Rajnath Singh said UP is now "UP" in the true sense because it is moving upward in every field.

On Saturday (May 30), Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for improving law and order in UP. Speaking in Lucknow, he said the state was once known for the presence of mafias in different districts, and investors hesitated to come here. Today, he said, UP has changed and emerged as a major destination for investment and development.

Rajnath Singh attended the inauguration of Naval Shaurya Vatika along with CM Yogi. During the event, both leaders visited the retired warship INS Gomati and received information from naval officers about its history and service. The warship now stands as the main attraction of the memorial park.

INS Gomati

INS Gomati served the Indian Navy for 35 years before retiring on May 28, 2022. The Tourism Department developed the Naval Shaurya Vatika with support from the Navy. The memorial is located near Gate No. 5 of Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

Spread across two acres, the project cost around ₹19 crore and took four years to complete. Officials said the site displays INS Gomati along with several naval weapons and equipment. Visitors can also see the AK-726 medium-range gun, CET-53M torpedo decoy system, ZIF-101 launcher, capstan drum, and the ship’s large propeller.

According to the Tourism Department, these exhibits will help people understand the technological strength and combat capabilities of the Indian Navy.

‘UP Is Now Moving Up in Every Sector’

Addressing the gathering, Rajnath Singh said UP is now “UP” in the true sense because it is moving upward in every field. He invited people to visit the memorial with their families and children to learn about the sacrifices and duties of naval personnel.

He said a sailor’s uniform is not just a piece of clothing but a symbol of responsibility and commitment to the nation.

Rajnath Credits Yogi for Law and Order Improvement

Rajnath Singh said UP was once known as “One District, One Mafia.” He added that the state’s image has changed significantly under CM Yogi. He praised the CM for controlling crime and improving law and order.

The Defence Minister said CM Yogi successfully transformed the state’s identity into “One District, One Product,” which has encouraged industrial growth and investment. He added that investors who once avoided UP now see it as a promising destination.

CM Yogi Recalls Situation Before 2017

Speaking at the event, CM Yogi recalled the law and order situation before 2017. He said curfews were common in many parts of the state and criminal gangs had made life difficult for ordinary people.

The CM said society must deal firmly with elements that pose a threat to the nation. He stressed the importance of maintaining security and protecting public interests.

The inauguration of Naval Shaurya Vatika marked an important step in preserving India’s naval heritage while also highlighting Uttar Pradesh’s efforts to promote tourism and national pride.
