The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has formally launched its preparations for the 2027 UP Assembly elections. BJP National President Nitin Navin began his first two-day organisational visit to UP on Saturday (July 4) with a grand roadshow in Lucknow. His visit came soon after the formation of the party’s new state team and carried strong political significance.
Navin’s 18-kilometre roadshow started from Amausi Airport at 11:20 am and ended at the BJP state headquarters at 1:55 pm. Thousands of party workers lined the route and welcomed him with flowers, garlands and slogans. During the roadshow, Navin greeted supporters and also waved a ceremonial sword. A 25-foot-long garland, lifted by a bulldozer, became one of the biggest highlights of the event. Several Muslim women wearing burqas and Muslim men wearing skull caps also joined the procession.
CM Yogi Gives Grand Welcome
CM Yogi welcomed Nitin Navin at Amausi Airport with a bouquet. State BJP President Pankaj Chaudhary, Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak also remained present.
As the convoy moved towards the BJP headquarters, workers organised welcome programmes at nearly 40 locations, including Alambagh, Charbagh, Deendayal Smritika, Maharana Pratap Chowk and Burlington Crossing. Social, business and youth organisations greeted the BJP chief with flower showers, traditional drums and cultural performances.
Strong Chemistry Between Yogi and Nitin Navin
The roadshow also showcased the close coordination between CM Yogi and BJP President Nitin Navin. Throughout the programme, Navin remained alongside the CM and State BJP President Pankaj Chaudhary. Their public appearances and interactions projected unity within the party leadership ahead of the 2027 Assembly election.
After the roadshow, Navin reached the BJP state headquarters and chaired a high-level organisational meeting with CM Yogi, State BJP President Pankaj Chaudhary, regional presidents, office-bearers, district presidents and heads of various party wings.
According to party sources, Navin asked leaders to begin preparations for the 2027 election immediately. He directed them to strengthen the party at the booth level, take government welfare schemes to every household and further expand the BJP’s social outreach.
Temple Visit After Organisation Meetings
Later in the evening, Nitin Navin visited the famous Hanuman Setu Temple in Lucknow along with CM Yogi and Pankaj Chaudhary. He offered prayers and sought blessings for the prosperity of UP and the BJP’s success in the political battles ahead.
What Does Nitin Navin’s Visit and Roadshow with CM Yogi Mean?
Nitin Navin’s first visit to UP as BJP National President carried a clear political message. The roadshow demonstrated that the BJP has activated its election machinery well ahead of the 2027 Assembly polls. The joint appearance of Navin, CM Yogi, State BJP President Pankaj Chaudhary and both Deputy Chief Ministers signalled unity within the party leadership.
The event also shows the BJP’s effort to showcase broad social participation. The presence of Muslim participants, the symbolic bulldozer garland and the temple visit reflected different aspects of the party’s political messaging.
On Sunday (July 4), Navin will meet NDA allies, including Apna Dal, Nishad Party, SBSP and RLD. He will also address a Shakti Kendra coordinators’ conference and interact with booth-level workers over tea. These programmes reflect the BJP’s strategy to strengthen its organisation from the grassroots while maintaining coordination with alliance partners before the 2027 election.
