A 23-year-old Hindu woman has filed a serious complaint against six people, including a man named Faheem from Meerut, alleging abduction, sexual assault, blackmail, illegal confinement, and pressure to convert her religion. The FIR was registered at Jamia Nagar Police Station in Delhi on May 14, 2026.
According to the woman, Faheem, who introduced himself as Sahil on Instagram, first contacted her in November 2021. The friendship grew over the next few months. In March 2022, Sahil invited her to Batla House in Delhi’s Zakir Nagar area.
The woman said that after she arrived, Sahil took her to the flat of his friend Ali. There, she drank a juice that made her unconscious. She said that Sahil and Ali sexually assaulted her and recorded videos and photographs. When she regained consciousness, Sahil showed her the recordings and threatened to send them to her family and make them public if she refused to obey him.
Kidnapping and Discovery of Faheem’s Real Identity
She further said that Sahil later called her to Batla House again. This time, he threatened her with a pistol and took her to his village, Sathla, in Meerut, with the help of another associate named Govinda. It was only after reaching the village that she learned Sahil’s real name was Faheem and that he was Muslim.
The woman mentioned that the abuse continued in Meerut. She said that Faheem and his father sexually assaulted her. She said she begged Faheem’s mother Tasleema and sister Ikra to let her return home, but they refused. Instead, they allegedly beat her and told her she would have to stay there permanently.
According to the complaint, family members forced her to call her mother and falsely state that she had married Faheem willingly through a court marriage. Believing that the marriage was voluntary, her family stopped searching for her.
Nikah, Religious Pressure and Life in Meerut
The woman stated that about a week later, Faheem’s mother and sister took her to a madrasa in Agwanpur. There, she met Hafiz Manzoor, Faheem’s maternal uncle and a cleric. She alleged that he told her she was fortunate to have entered a Muslim household and that she would now receive “Jannat.” She said she repeatedly asked to return home, but instead, they arranged her Nikah with Faheem.
After the marriage ceremony, she returned to Faheem’s house. The woman alleged that family members pressured her to wear a burqa and eat beef. They reportedly told her that she could not become a Muslim unless she accepted these practices. She said they forced her to wash and cook meat. On one occasion, she claimed they slaughtered a chicken in front of her and poured its blood on her.
Continued Exploitation
The allegations become even more serious in the later part of her statement. The woman claimed that after the Nikah, family members took her to another cleric who behaved inappropriately with her. She alleged that the man began visiting the house regularly and that family members allowed him to enter her room. Later, she claimed, he started bringing other men as well.
She alleged that when she resisted, the cleric told her that he paid money to her mother-in-law. At that point, she believed that her mother-in-law was using her for exploitation. According to the woman, family members often claimed that bringing a Hindu girl into the family was a way to earn religious rewards and reach “Jannat.”
The woman also alleged that several other Hindu girls had been brought to the village through similar methods. She said villagers knew about her situation but never objected. Instead, they advised her to live according to the wishes of Faheem’s family.
Pregnancy, Daughter’s Birth and Return to Delhi
About three months after reaching Meerut, she became pregnant. She alleged that the family pressured her to continue the pregnancy. In March 2023, she gave birth to a daughter, who is now three years old. She also claimed that village head Firoz helped remove her father’s name from her Aadhaar card and replace it with Faheem’s name.
The woman said that in November 2024, Faheem had disagreements with his family and moved with her and their daughter to Batla House in Delhi. However, in January 2025, police arrested him in an arms trafficking case and sent him to jail.
After Faheem’s arrest, she said she continued to face threats from his family. She eventually returned to her parents’ home but did not receive much support there. Feeling helpless and exhausted, she reached a breaking point.
Suicide Attempt and FIR
She stated that on May 10, 2026, she went with her daughter intending to end her life by jumping in front of a train. However, an unknown man stopped her and convinced her to seek legal help instead. A few days later, she filed the FIR against Faheem and his relatives.
Dainik Bhaskar also visited Sathla village to learn more about Faheem’s background. Local residents were reluctant to speak on record. Some villagers claimed that Faheem and his family had a criminal reputation. They said Faheem had faced action under the Gangster Act and had previous cases related to robbery and extortion. His father Khursheed faces allegations in a double murder case.
Village head Firoz denied any connection with Faheem. He said the allegations against him were false and refused to discuss the matter further. He also said that he learned about the woman’s allegations through news reports.
Police Investigation Underway
Police have arrested five accused in the case, including Faheem, his father Khursheed, his mother Tasleem, his brother Zaid, and a cleric. One brother and one sister remain at large. The investigation is being led by SI Sharanya. Police officials said they are examining all allegations, including the woman’s claim that other Hindu girls may have been brought to the village under similar circumstances.
