After Maulana Jarjis Called Lord Krishna ‘Namazi’, Former SP MP ST Hasan Says Ram and Krishna Could Have Been Prophets

Hasan also described both Lord Ram and Lord Krishna as great personalities who gave valuable lessons to humanity. However, his remarks have drawn criticism because they appeared to support the claims made by Maulana Jarjis Ansari.

The religious controversy over Lord Krishna and Lord Ram in UP has taken a sharper turn. After Maulana Jarjis Ansari, former Samajwadi Party (SP) MP ST Hasan has also made a controversial statement. Speaking to reporters in Moradabad on Saturday (July 18), Hasan supported the Maulana’s remarks and said that Lord Ram and Lord Krishna could have been among the prophets recognised in Islam.

The controversy began two days ago after Etawah-based Maulana Jarjis Ansari claimed that Lord Krishna was a Muslim and offered namaz five times a day. His remarks triggered strong protests. Police registered FIRs against him in several places, including Hazratganj police station in Lucknow.

What Did ST Hasan Say?

While speaking to the media in Moradabad, former SP MP ST Hasan added to the controversy. He said that many Muslim scholars believe Lord Ram and Lord Krishna may have been among the 1,24,000 prophets sent to the world. He added that history changes over time and therefore he could not make a definite claim.

Hasan also described both Lord Ram and Lord Krishna as great personalities who gave valuable lessons to humanity. However, his remarks have drawn criticism because they appeared to support the claims made by Maulana Jarjis Ansari. Many members of the Hindu community have called the statements an attempt to rewrite the history of their revered deities and insult their faith.

Scholars Reject Interpretation of Bhagavad Gita Verse

Religious scholars and Sanskrit experts have rejected the interpretation presented by Maulana Jarjis Ansari. They said he misrepresented a verse from the Bhagavad Gita to support his claim. According to them, the verse does not mention Islam, namaz, or any Islamic method of worship. They argue that the Maulana gave the verse a meaning that does not exist in the original text.

What Did Maulana Jarjis Ansari Say?

Maulana Jarjis Ansari made the controversial remarks during a religious gathering in Deoghar, Jharkhand, on June 23. Addressing the audience, he claimed that Lord Krishna offered five daily prayers. He referred to a verse from Chapter 6 of the Bhagavad Gita and said it instructed devotees to worship God with the entire body rather than while standing alone.

He also claimed that if Hindus read their own scriptures carefully, they would develop respect for Islam. He further said that Islam was not only the religion of Muslims and alleged that Lord Ram and Lord Krishna preached the same faith. His remarks sparked widespread outrage and led to multiple police complaints against him.
