Nepal Thanks CM Yogi After Rescue of 453 Citizens From Fraud Network in Kushinagar

During the operation, authorities rescued 453 Nepali nationals, including 115 women and 338 men, from different locations in Kushinagar district.

Nepal has thanked the Yogi government, UP Police, and other agencies after a major rescue operation freed 453 Nepali citizens from a networking fraud racket operating in Kushinagar district.

The Yogi government has received global recognition for its anti-crime response.

Fraud Network Targeted Nepali Citizens

Authorities launched the operation after receiving reports that several Nepali citizens faced exploitation and fraud in Kushinagar, a district located near the India-Nepal border. UP Police carried out raids at multiple locations and uncovered a large network that lured people with false promises of jobs and financial opportunities.

Victims Lured Through Social Media

According to a press release issued by the Nepal Embassy in New Delhi, fraudsters used social media platforms to attract Nepali citizens. They promised lucrative jobs and better earnings, but instead trapped victims in fraudulent activities in India’s border regions.

After receiving information about the scam, the embassy coordinated with the UP Police, concerned government agencies, and NGO KIN India to launch a rescue mission.

453 Nepali Citizens Rescued

During the operation, authorities rescued 453 Nepali nationals, including 115 women and 338 men, from different locations in Kushinagar district. Officials later handed them over to the District Police Office in Rupandehi, Nepal.

Police in Rupandehi have taken 19 suspects into custody, including six women. Investigators continue to examine the case and identify the full extent of the fraud network.

Nepal Expresses Gratitude to CM Yogi

The Nepal Embassy thanked the government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, UP Police, Nepal Police, KIN India, and all other agencies that contributed to the successful rescue operation.

The embassy said the coordinated efforts of both countries helped protect hundreds of vulnerable citizens from exploitation.

Warning Against Job Scams

The Nepal Embassy also urged Nepali citizens to remain cautious about overseas job offers and other schemes that promise quick financial gains. It advised people to verify employment opportunities before accepting them and to avoid falling for misleading advertisements on social media.

The embassy added that the Government of Nepal and the Nepal Embassy in India remain committed to ensuring the safety and welfare of Nepali citizens living or working in India.

The Yogi government is known for eradicating such crimes and has taken action several times to destroy these kinds of networks in UP.
