On Monday(July 21), UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a sharp attack on the Samajwadi Party (SP) and Congress during a public rally in Barabanki. He urged people to stay away from both parties, saying they oppose development, heritage, farmers, youth, women, and the poor.
“If people remain alert against SP and Congress, they will stay safe. These parties have always worked against the interests of the public,” the chief minister said.
During the event, Yogi inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 82 development projects worth more than ₹542 crore in the Ramnagar and Dariyabad Assembly constituencies. He described Barabanki as a land known for its rich heritage, spirituality, literature, and contribution to India’s freedom movement.
Yogi Targets Previous Governments
The CM accused previous governments of following appeasement politics. He claimed development reached only the boundary walls of graveyards, while important religious and historical sites did not receive attention.
He said earlier governments ignored places such as Lodheshwar Mahadev Temple, KD Singh Babu’s haveli, the famous Parijaat tree, and major religious centres like Kashi and Ayodhya.
Yogi announced that his government is building a grand corridor at Lodheshwar Mahadev Temple to attract devotees from across India and abroad. He also asked officials to prepare a proposal to widen the road in front of the temple from two lanes to four.
Sports Museum Planned at KD Singh Babu’s Haveli
The chief minister also spoke about legendary hockey player KD Singh Babu. He said his government would not allow the player’s ancestral haveli to be lost.
Yogi announced that the state will develop the property into a modern sports museum to honour the hockey icon and preserve his legacy.
‘Tell Youth About SP Rule’
Attacking SP president Akhilesh Yadav, the chief minister asked senior citizens to tell young people about law and order during the Samajwadi Party government.
He claimed the previous SP regime saw incidents of crime, violence, and intimidation. He also alleged corruption in projects such as the Janeshwar Mishra Park (JPNIC) and the Gomti River Front, accusing the previous government of scams worth more than ₹1,500 crore.
‘Sanatan Is the Foundation of Our Future’
Yogi also stressed the importance of Sanatan Dharma. He said the country’s future depends on its strong foundation.
“If Sanatan is safe, all of us are safe. If Sanatan faces danger, no one will remain safe,” he said.
The CM also accused SP and Congress leaders of remaining silent during times of crisis and claimed they try to divide society instead of standing with the people.
