The Uttar Pradesh government has approved a major infrastructure project to strengthen road connectivity across western Uttar Pradesh. Authorities will build a new interchange on the Yamuna Expressway that will connect directly with the proposed Ganga Expressway Link. The project carries an estimated cost of around ₹1,209 crore and aims to create faster travel routes for commuters, industries and freight movement.

Direct route to Noida International Airport

The planned interchange will provide seamless connectivity between the Yamuna Expressway and the upcoming 74.3-km Ganga Expressway Link. Vehicles travelling from districts along the Ganga Expressway will get direct access to the Yamuna Expressway and the Noida International Airport at Jewar. Officials believe the corridor will reduce travel time and improve logistics across the region.

Project to pass through Bulandshahr and Greater Noida

The link expressway will begin near Siyana in Bulandshahr on the Ganga Expressway and end near Sector 21 on the Yamuna Expressway in Greater Noida. Around 20 km of the alignment will fall within the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) area, and nearly 9 km of that stretch will run on an elevated structure. The six-lane corridor will remain expandable in the future.

Land acquisition moves ahead

YEIDA has completed the survey for land acquisition and submitted the details to the state government. The authority will acquire nearly 740 acres of land spread across 16 villages before handing it over to the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA), which will construct the project. Overall, the expressway will pass through 56 villages in Bulandshahr and Gautam Buddha Nagar districts.

Better connectivity expected across western UP

The new interchange will strengthen links between the Ganga Expressway, Yamuna Expressway, Eastern Peripheral Expressway and other major road networks. Officials expect the project to improve passenger travel, speed up cargo movement to Jewar Airport and support industrial and economic growth in western Uttar Pradesh.
