Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief Om Prakash Rajbhar wished Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on his birthday but also used the occasion to take a swipe at him. In a post on X, Rajbhar said Akhilesh should leave his comfortable lifestyle behind and start visiting villages across UP.
Rajbhar wished Akhilesh good health and a long life. He then said he had been thinking about what gift he could give him on his birthday.
‘My Advice Is My Birthday Gift’
Rajbhar said Akhilesh comes from a prominent political family. His father served as UP CM and Defence Minister, while Akhilesh himself has also held the post of CM. Because of that, Rajbhar said he could not think of any material gift to offer him.
Instead, he said he would give Akhilesh a valuable piece of advice as his birthday present.
‘Leave AC and PC Politics’
Rajbhar urged Akhilesh to come out of what he called a life of comfort. He said Akhilesh should give up “AC and PC politics” as soon as possible.
He asked the Samajwadi Party chief to travel across villages and interact with non-Yadav OBC communities, poor families, Dalits and people from every section of society. Rajbhar said a leader must share both the joys and hardships of the people.
‘Understand the New UP’
Rajbhar said Akhilesh should try to understand the changing Uttar Pradesh instead of watching videos of farmers while sitting in an air-conditioned room. He said Akhilesh should visit farms and understand agriculture by meeting farmers on the ground.
He added that walking on village paths may not be easy at first. A person may twist an ankle, get pricked by thorns or struggle in the heat. But he said regular visits to villages help leaders understand the real path to state politics.
Rajbhar said there is no shortcut to becoming a grassroots leader. He added that hard work is the only way to connect with people. Citing his own example, Rajbhar said he continues to travel from village to village even when temperatures touch 48 degrees Celsius.
He ended his message by praying that God guide Akhilesh Yadav on the right path and once again wished him a happy birthday.
