For decades, young people from India’s villages have moved to big cities in search of better opportunities. Twenty-three-year-old Khushboo from Ghazipur, UP, is one of them. But unlike many others, she does not dream of settling in a metro city. She dreams of returning home.

Khushboo moved to Mumbai to continue her graduation, earn a living, and prepare for the UP Police exam. To support herself financially, she joined Swiggy as a delivery partner. Every day, she manages work and studies together, proving that determination can overcome even the toughest challenges.

Chasing a Dream While Earning a Living

Khushboo’s story recently gained attention through an episode of Chai Biskoot, where she shared her journey with Swiggy CEO Rohit Kapoor. It was shared by the CEO on his Instagram ID. During the conversation, she explained how the flexible nature of her work allows her to earn an income while also preparing for competitive examinations.

When asked about her future plans, she gave a simple but powerful answer: she wants to become a police officer and serve her community. She believes her village offers the peace and sense of belonging that she values most.

Recognising her dedication, the team gifted her a laptop and a cheque, helping her move one step closer to her goal.

A Story of Women’s Empowerment

Khushboo’s journey reflects the growing confidence of young women across UP. Yogi Government has changed the environment which supports women dreams and empowerment. Today, more women travel for education and employment, take independent decisions, and pursue careers that once seemed out of reach. Her story shows how a safe environment, better opportunities, and family support can empower women to dream bigger.

Opportunity, Fairness and Hope

Her journey also shows how digital platforms and companies such as Swiggy create opportunities for young people from modest backgrounds. At the same time, thousands of aspirants across UP continue to prepare for government jobs with the belief that hard work will be rewarded. The state’s focus on transparent and fair recruitment processes has strengthened that confidence among many young candidates.

From a small town of Ghazipur to the city of dreams Mumbai, Khushboo’s story is a reminder that success is not always about leaving home behind. Sometimes, it is about going out into the world, building yourself up, and returning home stronger than before.
