The Yogi government has taken another major step toward women’s empowerment. The UP government is preparing to provide housing and health insurance benefits to women affected by triple talaq and acid attacks. The initiative aims to help these women live with dignity and security.
Under the proposed plan, eligible women will receive benefits from the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, and Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana. The government also plans to extend these benefits to destitute women.
The Yogi government has always faced criticisms from the opposition party that the government only favours Hindus, but this decision shows that the Yogi Government is for all who are citizens of UP and abide by the law.
Government Starts Data Collection Drive
Following directions from CM Yogi Adityanath, the Women Welfare Department has started work on the project. The department is collecting detailed information about women affected by triple talaq, acid attacks, and those living without support.
Officials are gathering verified data to identify eligible beneficiaries. The government is also preparing the necessary guidelines and government orders to implement the scheme effectively.
The state government wants to ensure that no eligible woman misses out on welfare benefits because of a lack of information or administrative hurdles. Different departments are working together to identify beneficiaries and connect them with government schemes.

CM Yogi Gives Clear Instructions
CM Yogi recently directed officials during a high-level meeting to provide permanent housing to women who have suffered due to triple talaq or acid attacks and do not own a home. He asked departments to include such women under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana or the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana.
The Chief Minister also instructed officials to link these women and their families with health insurance schemes. Thiswill help them access quality medical treatment without facing financial difficulties.
Focus on Security and Dignity
Acid attack survivors often require long-term medical treatment, surgeries, and rehabilitation. At the same time, many women affected by triple talaq face social and economic challenges after separation.
By providing both housing and health coverage, the UP government aims to strengthen their social and financial security. The initiative seeks to help these women rebuild their lives and become part of the mainstream with confidence and dignity.
The move reflects the state government’s continued focus on the welfare, safety, and empowerment of women.
