An inspiring story has come from Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh. Local women are moving beyond traditional household roles and starting small industries. Eleven women formed a group and started a business of making doormats from old clothes. Their idea is to create jobs, income, and hope for many others.
Small steps, big results
The group collects old clothes. They buy them from the market at just 5 to 8 rupees per kilo. After sorting the cloth, they turn it into strong and colourful doormats. The cost is low, but the creativity is high. These doormats sell well in the market.
Group president Himani Bishnoi said their monthly income has now reached around 10,000 rupees. She added that teamwork and unity make women stronger. The group now encourages other women to start small businesses and become self-reliant.
More than money
This effort is not only giving financial strength. It is also boosting women’s confidence and social status. These women are proving that small steps can create big changes. Families and society are also benefiting from this new sense of independence.
Government support for women entrepreneurs
The Yogi government is also pushing women’s entrepreneurship in Uttar Pradesh. Under the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Campaign, lakhs of women have registered. Many have already received interest-free loans to start businesses. Banks have been asked to approve loans within 48 hours. Colleges and institutions are also inspiring young women to try entrepreneurship.
This support gives women confidence to take risks and grow. Initiatives in Moradabad, Rampur, and other districts show that women are ready to lead change.
A model for the nation
The Moradabad women’s story is a model. It shows that teamwork, creativity, and government support can change lives. From waste cloth to steady income, these women have shown a new path of self-reliance and empowerment.
