The Uttar Pradesh government has stepped up efforts to position the state as a global manufacturing, trade and export hub. The fourth edition of the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS) 2026 will take place from September 25 to 29 at the India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida.
On Friday (July 31), Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed preparations for the event. He said the trade show has become the state’s biggest platform to showcase its industrial strength, innovation, One District One Product (ODOP) initiative and export potential. He added that the event also supports Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Make in India’ and ‘Make for the World.’
Global participation under ‘UP for Global Growth’ theme
This year’s theme is ‘UP for Global Growth: Innovation, Manufacturing and Exports.’ During the review meeting, the Chief Minister asked officials to strengthen engagement with countries such as Singapore, Oman, Austria, Brazil, Thailand, Japan, Indonesia and Russia to ensure strong international participation.
The government expects more than 550 international buyers from over 85 countries to attend the event. More than 2,400 exhibitors, 1.5 lakh registered B2B buyers and over 4.5 lakh B2C visitors are also likely to participate.
The state has set ambitious targets for the event. It aims to sign over 4,000 MoUs, generate proposed agreements worth more than ₹3,200 crore and attract business enquiries exceeding ₹13,500 crore.
Focus on 27 sectors and knowledge sessions
The trade show will feature live exhibitions from more than 27 sectors, including ODOP, MSMEs, electronics and IT, defence and aerospace, agriculture, electric vehicles, pharmaceuticals, startups and handicrafts.
Experts will also conduct knowledge sessions on artificial intelligence (AI), digital trade, free trade agreements (FTAs), new labour codes and food processing. Organisers will run electric buses for visitors across the venue. The event will also showcase Uttar Pradesh’s cultural heritage through Kathak, folk dance and classical music performances.
Industrial development plan gains momentum
The Chief Minister also reviewed progress under the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Employment and Industrial Area Development Scheme. The government plans to provide skill training to 10 lakh youth every year and achieve 80% placement under the programme.
Major companies, including TCS, BVG Group and Hiranandani Group, have shown interest in the project. TCS has agreed to serve as the technical partner. In the first phase, the government has identified 1,320 acres of land across 19 districts and has started developing 17 industrial centres.
