On Friday (July 17), Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi visited Shamli and inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for development projects worth ₹589 crore. At the same time, he attacked the Samajadi Party and Congress for their ideological resemblance to Jinnah. He addressed a public gathering at Vijay Singh Pathik Degree College and said the government has focused on improving infrastructure and speeding up development in the district. Before reaching the venue, he inspected the PAC camp after landing by helicopter.
Yogi Says Kairana Has Moved Beyond Fear
During his speech, Yogi Adityanath said Shamli and Kairana have witnessed a major change over the past few years. He recalled his earlier promise to eliminate mafia influence and said the results are now visible across the region. According to him, people no longer live under fear, and criminal networks have lost their grip. He said women now move freely, and law and order have improved significantly compared to the past.
Appeals to Kanwar Pilgrims to Maintain Peace
The CM also spoke about the ongoing Kanwar Yatra and urged devotees to maintain its dignity. He asked Kanwariyas to avoid unnecessary arguments and disturbances during the pilgrimage. He said they represent the values of Lord Ram and are devotees of Lord Shiva, so they should set an example through discipline. He also urged pilgrims to remove anyone who tries to create trouble or disrupt the yatra.
Targets Opposition Over Law and Order
Yogi Adityanath launched a sharp attack on the Samajwadi Party and the Congress during his address. He accused both parties of supporting divisive politics and claimed that previous governments failed to maintain law and order. CM Yogi directly said that the SP and Congress are Jinnah’s admirer. He said people once struggled for basic services such as electricity and security, but the current government has changed that situation through better governance and development.
Shamli Emerging as a Key Growth Centre
The Chief Minister said Shamli has become an important growth hub because of major infrastructure projects. Hehighlighted the Delhi-Dehradun, Shamli-Ambala, and Shamli-Gorakhpur expressways, calling them a major boost for the district. He added that Shamli is now part of the National Capital Region and is developing on the same lines as other NCR cities.
