‘Please Forgive Us, Yogi Ji…’ Criminals Step Out with Banners as Police Reach Ghaziabad Muslim Majority Areas

Some posters read, "Yogi Ji, please forgive us. We will not commit any crime again." Others carried messages such as, "We promise that we will not engage in any criminal activity in the future."

The impact of UP CM Yogi Adityanath’s zero-tolerance policy toward crime has become increasingly visible on the ground. An unusual scene unfolded in the Muslim-majority areas of Ghaziabad’s Kotwali region when police teams arrived to conduct a verification and identification drive targeting known criminals. As soon as news of the operation spread, several offenders came out onto the streets carrying posters and banners, publicly pledging to give up crime.

Senior Officers Lead Verification Campaign

DCP City Dhaval Jaiswal, ACP Upasana Pandey, and a large police force led the operation in the area. The campaign focused on verifying and identifying individuals involved in serious offences such as gang-related crimes, robbery, crimes against women, and other criminal activities. Police launched the drive to monitor the movements and activities of such individuals more effectively.

Offenders Carry Posters Seeking Forgiveness

During the operation, dozens of known offenders appeared in public holding posters that carried messages promising not to engage in crime again. Several individuals sought forgiveness from the Yogi Adityanath government and pledged to stay away from unlawful activities in the future.

Some posters read, “Yogi Ji, please forgive us. We will not commit any crime again.” Others carried messages such as, “We promise that we will not engage in any criminal activity in the future.” The public display drew attention from local residents and quickly became a topic of discussion.

More Than 1,000 Criminals Under Verification

DCP City Dhaval Jaiswal said that the police plan to verify more than 1,000 individuals with criminal records in the area. As part of the campaign, officers are collecting information about their current occupations and checking whether they have become involved in any new criminal activities.

Police teams are documenting their present addresses, identities, and day-to-day activities. Authorities aim to maintain updated records so they can take immediate action if any individual returns to crime.

Strong Message from Police

The intensive verification drive has sent a clear message that criminals will find it increasingly difficult to evade law enforcement. Amid the Yogi government’s strict law-and-order measures, the sight of offenders publicly renouncing crime has become a major talking point in Ghaziabad and highlights the pressure created by the ongoing crackdown on criminal elements.
