The three-day North Tech Symposium (NTS) 2026 concluded in Prayagraj on Wednesday (May 6) in the presence of UP CM Yogi, who attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest.
Addressing the gathering, Yogi said peace, compassion and forgiveness carry meaning only when backed by strength. “Only those with power and capability can protect their values and civilisational ethos,” he said.
Quoting the Sanskrit verse “अयं निजः परो वेति गणना लघुचेतसाम्। उदारचरितानां तु वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम्॥”, the CM said India’s culture has always viewed the world as one family. He added that generosity remains India’s civilisational value and compassion its natural temperament. But he stressed that generosity also requires security and strength.
Referring to poet Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, Yogi said, “क्षमा शोभती उस भुजंग को, जिसके पास गरल हो…” to underline that forgiveness has value only when it comes from a position of capability.
He said India does not strengthen its strategic and internal power to attack others, but to ensure that no one mistakes its restraint for weakness. “A nation achieves prosperity not only through resources, but through security, stability and capability,” he said.
Uttar Pradesh Model of Security and Governance
The Chief Minister said his government understood this principle when it took office in 2017. At that time, UP faced an identity crisis and weak law-and-order conditions.
He said the government decided that achieving good governance required a secure environment, strict implementation of the rule of law and zero tolerance against crime. According to him, that resolution helped establish a law-and-order model that now draws national attention.
Yogi also said Uttar Pradesh today possesses some of the best infrastructure in India, reflecting how security and development can advance together.
Raksha Triveni Sangam Theme Defines the Event
Held on the theme “Raksha Triveni Sangam,” the symposium brought together academia, the defence industry and the Armed Forces on one platform.
Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma said the theme reflected Prayagraj’s sacred confluence. Just as rivers strengthen the flow of life, he said, the coming together of government agencies, industry, educational institutions and the armed forces strengthens innovation and national capability.
The event was jointly organised by the Indian Army’s Northern Command, Central Command and the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers.
284 Companies Showcase Indigenous Defence Technology
A total of 284 companies, MSMEs, private defence firms and startups showcased indigenous technologies during the three-day event.
The exhibition focused on drones, all-terrain vehicles, surveillance systems and logistics technologies. Organisers also held live demonstrations of several advanced defence platforms to show their field applications.
The symposium aimed to identify deployable technologies, streamline procurement and improve field maintenance capabilities for the Indian Army.
Rajnath Singh Inaugurated the Symposium
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the symposium on May 4. He visited the firing range and watched live demonstrations of modern weapons systems. Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi accompanied him.
On the second day, Union Minister Jitendra Singh and Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth also attended.
Boost to Aatmanirbhar Bharat
With large-scale participation and a sharp focus on indigenous defence innovation, North Tech Symposium 2026 gave fresh momentum to India’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision.
For three days, Prayagraj emerged as a major centre of defence technology, operational readiness and strategic self-reliance.
