In Ghaziabad, SP leader Haji Khalil has entered into his fourth marriage with a 20-year-old woman. He is 70 years old. The age gap between them is around 50 years. Khalil already has 11 children from his first three wives. His second wife, Nazreen, has strongly objected to this marriage.
On Tuesday (May 6), Nazreen went to the Commissioner’s Office with her son. She submitted a written complaint to the Additional Police Commissioner. She said her husband fathers children with each wife and then later abandons them or forces them out of the house. She alleged that he has now brought home a 20-year-old woman after marrying her.
Nazreen also said she received threats after approaching the police earlier. She told officials that she feared for her safety, which is why she came directly to the Commissioner’s Office. The Additional Police Commissioner assured her that the matter would be investigated. Haji Khalil has served as a councillor twice on an SP ticket. The case falls under the Kotwali police station area.
Second Wife Says She and Her Son Were Forced Out
Haji Khalil lives in the Kaila Bhatta locality under the Kotwali police station area. He was elected councillor from Islamnagar in 1995 and again in 2000.
He married for the first time in 1988. He has eight children from his first wife. According to the family, he later left her, and she started living separately with her children.
Nazreen said Khalil married her in 1998. She claimed he never told her before marriage that he already had a wife and children. She said she learned about his first marriage only after coming to his house. Nazreen has three children with him — two daughters and one son.
Earlier Marriages and the Fourth Nikah
Nazreen said Khalil married for the third time in 2010. He had no children from that marriage. Later, he divorced his third wife through triple talaq. She now lives in Delhi.
Now, according to Nazreen, he has married 20-year-old Yasmeen as his fourth wife. She alleged that Yasmeen is interested in Khalil’s property. She also claimed Khalil wants to transfer his property in Yasmeen’s name.
Nazreen said Khalil had already kept her in a separate house. When she came to know about the new marriage and objected, he forced her and her son out of the house.
Allegations of Illegal Occupation of Government Land
Haji Khalil has also faced serious land-related allegations in the past. He was accused of illegally occupying municipal land worth nearly Rs 30 crore in the Kaila Bhatta area of Ghaziabad.
According to the allegations, he built a madrasa, a mosque, and several shops on the land without permission. These shops were later given out on rent.
After receiving complaints, the municipal corporation investigated the matter. Officials issued notices to vacate the illegal madrasa and shops. They also removed an illegal parking area and a water plant from the land.
At that time, the religious structure was not removed. An FIR was also registered against Khalil in connection with the case.
