An event was organised in the state capital Lucknow on Tuesday (December 23) on the occasion of Kisan Diwas. CM Yogi attended the programme, where he honoured progressive farmers and handed over tractor keys to several beneficiaries.

Addressing the gathering, CM Yogi said that protecting the interests of farmers is everyone’s duty. He also stated that the state government is continuously working for the welfare and prosperity of farmers. For the first time, farmers have become a core part of the government’s agenda. Since the BJP government came to power in 2014, consistent efforts have been made to ensure farmers’ development. He compared the soil to a mother and said that just as a son takes care of his ailing mother, the government has shown seriousness for the first time towards the health of the land.

CM further said that today, farmers across the country are taking care of their soil through Soil Health Cards. Moreover, the government has run continuous awareness campaigns to educate farmers about soil health. He appealed to farmers to contribute to the development of the nation and the state with slogans of Bharat Mata ki Jai.
Efforts to Give a New Direction to Agriculture Through Innovative Research
Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi said that the country is building a new path of progress with the spirit of Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, and Jai Vigyan. He added that PM Narendra Modi and CM Yogi Adityanath have now included Jai Anusandhan (research) in this slogan, which has further accelerated development. He said that under future planning, new research initiatives are being undertaken to give a fresh direction to the agriculture sector, with the aim of achieving the vision of a developed India by 2047.
The programme was attended by Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, Minister of State for Agriculture Baldev Singh Aulakh, Animal Husbandry Minister Dharampal Singh, Horticulture Minister Dinesh Pratap Singh, several other ministers, and all RLD MLAs.
