Amid preparations for IPL 2026, the mini auction held in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday (December 16) brought a proud moment for Amethi. Notably, young cricketer Prashant Veer created history at the auction by becoming the most expensive uncapped player in the tournament so far. Consequently, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) signed him for a massive ₹14.20 crore.

He completed his primary education at Bhardwaj Academy and KPS School in Sangrampur block. From an early age, he showed a strong inclination toward cricket. Under the guidance of cricket coach Ghalib Ansari at Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Stadium in the city, he began structured cricket training.

After honing his skills, Prashant earned selection to the Sports Hostel in Mainpuri, where he completed classes 9 and 10. Subsequently, he passed his intermediate examination from Saharanpur. Additionally, he represented the School Federation of India Under-19 team, where he showcased his talent at the national level. Recently, selectors picked him for the Ranji Trophy as well. A record bid in a league as big as the IPL clearly demonstrates that Prashant Veer possesses the potential to become a future star. As a result, his achievement has inspired the youth of Amethi to dream big and work toward their goals.

Prashant Dominates Domestic Cricket

Currently, Prashant is playing in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for Uttar Pradesh. Notably, he has delivered impressive performances in the tournament. The 20-year-old cricketer has played two first-class matches and nine T20 matches so far. In these formats, he has scored seven and 112 runs respectively. At the same time, he has taken two wickets in first-class cricket and 12 wickets in T20s, underlining his all-round potential.
