According to Javed Shamim, Additional Director General (Law and Order), a case has been registered. The police confirmed that the situation is now under control and confined only to the stadium area.
However, the damage is done, and the police failed to prevent it.
Refund and Investigation Announced
Officials said that organisers have promised to refund ticket money to all fans. However, police will verify how this process will work. A high-level investigation committee has also been formed to examine all aspects of the incident.
Government Response
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed deep sorrow over the incident. She apologised to the public and announced an inquiry committee to find out the reasons behind the mismanagement.
Police and DGP Statements
