In UP, the campaign against drugs in Uttar Pradesh is being strengthened. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced several key decisions to make the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) more powerful and effective. A permanent force will soon be deployed in the ANTF, and inspectors and sub-inspectors will be appointed in every unit and police station. In addition, the Chief Minister has directed officials to assign separate courts to all six ANTF police stations in the state.
According to the government, since the formation of the ANTF, illegal drugs worth more than ₹775 crore have been destroyed in the last three years. Officials say this shows the success of the campaign against drug trafficking.
The Chief Minister also said that the fight against drugs is not only the responsibility of the government, but also the duty of society. He urged people to support authorities in identifying and reporting drug-related activities. A collective responsibility will lead to a decrease in narcotics crime and will prevent youth from destroying their youth.
The decisions were taken during a review meeting held at 5 Kalidas Marg, the Chief Minister’s residence. During the meeting, CM Yogi also reviewed the working of the ANTF and instructed officers to strengthen the force further. With permanent staff, dedicated courts, and better deployment, the government aims to tighten control over drug networks and ensure stronger action against the drug mafia across Uttar Pradesh.
