Following the arrest of Dr Adil Ahmed from Saharanpur district, multiple agencies—including Jammu & Kashmir Police, Delhi Police, the Intelligence Bureau, Haryana Police, ATS, and STF—have intensified their operations. Around 20 doctors and medical students from the district are now under scrutiny, along with students from private universities and madrasas. Meanwhile, Delhi Police’s special unit questioned Al-Falah University student Ahmed Raza and released him afterwards.
Saharanpur has been in the spotlight ever since Dr Adil’s detention. Intelligence teams continue frequent raids in the area. On Tuesday (November 20), officials detained a third-year MBBS student from Devband who studies at Faridabad’s Al-Falah University, suspecting links with Dr Umar, Dr Adil, and Dr Muzammil. Investigators questioned him for hours, seized certain mobile records, and later let him go. His family has since remained indoors and declined to comment. Agencies continue to camp in the district and have prepared a list of nearly 20 doctors and several medical students whose numbers were found in Dr Adil’s phone. Though no proven terror links have been established, they remain under watch and may be questioned soon.
