Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made a major announcement during the Ekta Padyatra in Gorakhpur. He said that from now on, all schools in UP will conduct the regular and mandatory singing of “Vande Mataram.”Addressing the ‘Ekta Yatra’ programme in Gorakhpur, CM noted that this step will inspire citizens with a sense of reverence and pride towards Bharat Mata and the motherland.
He said, “There must be a sense of respect for the national song ‘Vande Mataram’. We will make its singing compulsory in every school and educational institution across Uttar Pradesh.”
Call to Resist Divisive Forces
CM Adityanath added that it is the duty of citizens to identify forces that divide society on the basis of caste, region, and language. Such elements, he said, are part of a conspiracy to create new “Jinnahs.” “We must ensure that no new Jinnah ever emerges in India again; divisive intentions must be buried before they take root,” he said.
Ekta Yatra and National Unity Initiatives
In Gorakhpur, the Chief Minister participated in both the ‘Ekta Yatra’ and the collective singing of “Vande Mataram.”He noted that on October 30, ‘Run for Unity’ events were organised in every district across the country as a tribute to national unity.
During this period, the BJP also launched programmes centred on the life and contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Several government-led initiatives were rolled out as well—whether related to Swadeshi, self-reliance, or platforms addressing national unity. Alongside these, extensive public-awareness campaigns have been conducted nationwide.
