The construction of the Meerut–Prayagraj Ganga Expressway, along with the Bareilly–Mathura National Highway, is progressing rapidly and is expected to be completed by the end of 2027. The project is being executed in four phases, with work already completed up to Kasganj.
Work Progress in Different Phases
According to officials, most of the construction up to Kasganj has been completed. More than 50% of the work between Kasganj and Badaun is also finished. In Phase Four, construction work between Bareilly and Badaun is currently underway.
Four Bypasses and Major Junction Planned
As part of the project, four bypasses will be constructed at different locations. At Binawar, the Bareilly–Mathura Highway will connect with the Ganga Expressway, where a major junction will be developed. This junction will link the Bareilly–Mathura Highway, Moradabad–Farrukhabad Highway, and the Ganga Expressway, improving regional connectivity.
₹7,700 Crore Project to Benefit 25+ Districts
Officials of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) said that ₹650 crore is being spent on bypass construction at various locations between Bareilly and Badaun. Additionally, work worth ₹1,200 crore is ongoing from the Badaun bypass to the Kasganj border. After completion, the highway and its connectivity with the Ganga Expressway and Moradabad–Farrukhabad Highway will benefit people from more than 25 districts.
The Bareilly–Mathura–Agra National Highway will provide better connectivity between Agra, Mathura, Hathras, Kasganj, Badaun, and Bareilly. The 228-kilometre-long highway is estimated to cost around ₹7,700 crore.

₹1,527 Crore Compensation Distributed
NHAI has already started construction work between Bareilly and Badaun. In return for land acquisition, compensation worth ₹1,527 crore has been distributed to farmers. Officials confirmed that no land-related cases are pending. Tree cutting, soil filling, and road widening work have begun on both sides between Bareilly and Badaun.
Longest Bypass Between Bhamora and Devchara
The longest bypass on the Bareilly–Mathura Highway will be a five-kilometre stretch between Bhamora and Devchara, within Bareilly district. Construction work for this bypass has also started. Additional bypasses will be built near Binawar and Malgaon in Badaun. An overbridge will also be constructed at the railway crossing in Malgaon.

Project to Be Completed by 2027
NHAI Project Director Utkarsh Shukla said that construction of the Bareilly–Mathura–Agra Expressway, also known as the Agra–Bareilly Green Corridor, is progressing at a fast pace. Work between Bareilly and Badaun has already begun, and the entire project, along with the Ganga Expressway, is expected to be completed by 2027. Besides the Ganga Expressway, the highway will also connect with the Moradabad–Farrukhabad Highway, ensuring smoother and faster travel across the region.
