The Yogi government on Wednesday (October 29) announced a historic increase of ₹30 per quintal in the sugarcane price for the 2025–26 crushing season. Following this decision, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath interacted with sugarcane farmers on Thursday (October 30). During the program, farmers expressed their gratitude toward the CM and shared their feelings, saying that because of Yogi Ji, they have had the chance to celebrate Diwali twice in a single month.
Farmers’ Income Rises Due to CM Yogi’s Efforts
Progressive farmer Santosh Vajpeyi said that earlier, sugarcane used to dry up in the fields as they waited endlessly for purchase slips, but now they receive them instantly on their mobile phones. Intercropping of crops like potato–sugarcane, gram–sugarcane, and mustard–sugarcane has increased their income. All of this has been possible under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi.
BJP Government Gives True Meaning to ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’
Farmer Heera Singh from Mathura said that the Yogi government has given a great gift to farmers by raising the cane price. Whether it was the Congress, BSP, or SP, no one cared for the farmers. Though the slogan “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan” originated from Congress, it was the BJP government that truly gave it meaning. Rajnath Singh introduced the Kisan Credit Card facility, while Prime Minister Modi launched the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.
Yogi Ji Waived Farmers’ Loans in His First Cabinet Meeting
Farmer Ramniwas Yadav shared that during the previous two governments, cane prices hadn’t increased even by a single rupee in ten years, whereas Yogi Ji raised them by over 35% in eight years. In his very first cabinet meeting, Yogi Ji announced a farm loan waiver. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, C Yogi continues to work tirelessly for the welfare of the nation’s food providers.
Now No One Dares to Steal Even a Single Cane
Cane farmer Sardar Gurdutt Singh said that under Yogi Ji’s leadership, farmers got a chance to celebrate Diwali twice in a month. He expressed heartfelt thanks for the cane price hike, adding that earlier, under-weighing during procurement was common, but now no one dares to steal even a single sugarcane stalk.
Yogi Government Brings Smiles Back to Poor Farmers’ Faces
Farmer Satyapal Bhura from Shamli said that the Yogi government has worked to bring happiness to poor farmers. This increase in cane prices will lead to prosperity in farmers’ lives. He added that all the farmers of Shamli district are grateful to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for this farmer-friendly decision.
