Welcome New Year 2026 in Northeast: IRCTC Introduces 7-Day Shillong Air Tour From Lucknow

If you are planning to welcome and celebrate the New Year 2026 amid nature, then the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has introduced an attractive air tour package for travellers.

Notably, this package has been launched from Lucknow, the capital of UP, to Shillong. The tour will be of 6 nights and 7 days, starting from December 29 and concluding on January 4. During this journey, tourists will get the opportunity to explore the scenic beauty of Shillong, Mawlynnong, Guwahati, and Kaziranga.

Key highlights of the tour

Under this package, travel arrangements from Lucknow to Guwahati and back will be made via direct flights. Moreover, accommodation and meals will be provided at three-star hotels, ensuring comfort for travellers. 

During the tour, visitors will be taken to several major attractions, including Seven Sisters Falls, Nohkalikai Falls, Mawsmai Caves, Elephant Falls, Mawlynnong village (Asia’s cleanest village), Living Root Bridge, Dawki (India-Bangladesh border), Don Bosco Museum, Umiam Lake, Barapani, Kaziranga National Park, Kamakhya Temple, and a sunset view over the Brahmaputra River.

Package cost details

As per IRCTC, the per-person cost for single occupancy is Rs 77,400. Meanwhile, for double occupancy, the price comes down to Rs 56,600 per person. Similarly, triple occupancy has been priced at Rs 54,100 per person. In addition, for children staying with parents, the package cost will be Rs 48,960 with bed, while it will be Rs 39,200 without bed.

Booking process

Explaining the booking procedure, IRCTC Northern Region Chief Regional Manager Ajit Kumar Sinha stated that bookings will be done strictly on a first-come, first-served basis. Furthermore, he informed that reservations can be made at the IRCTC office located at Tourism Bhawan, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, as well as through online booking on the IRCTC tourism website (irctctourism.com).
