UP Police Kills a ₹50,000 Rewarded Criminal in Bulandshahr Encounter, One Policeman Injured 

UP Police shot dead a ₹50,000-rewarded criminal during an encounter in Bulandshahr’s Dehat Kotwali area, while one police personnel was injured in the exchange of fire and is undergoing treatment.

In a police encounter in Bulandshahr’s Dehat Kotwali area, a notorious criminal carrying a reward of ₹50,000 was killed. While one police personnel was injured during the exchange of fire. The injured constable was immediately admitted to the district hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.

According to the police, the incident took place near Jasnawali on Syana Road. When the Dehat Kotwali police team was conducting routine checking for a suspicious vehicle. Meanwhile, two suspicious youths were seen coming on a motorcycle. When the police signaled them to stop. The criminals opened fire on the police team and tried to flee from the spot.


Following this, the police immediately alerted senior officials through wireless communication and started chasing the suspects. At the same time, the police force from the Gulawathi police station also moved towards the area. As a result, the criminals were cornered from both sides near Selton Bamba Road.

However, even after being surrounded, the criminals began firing indiscriminately at the police with the intention to kill. In response, the police fired back in self-defence. During the encounter, one criminal was shot and fell seriously injured, while the second accomplice managed to escape by taking advantage of the darkness.

Subsequently, both the injured criminal and the injured policeman were rushed to the district hospital. There, doctors declared the criminal dead. He was later identified as Azad alias Zubair alias Peter (35), a resident of Shyam Nagar, Lisari Gate area of Meerut.

Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent of Police Dinesh Kumar Singh stated that the deceased was a hardened criminal. He was wanted in connection with a robbery case that took place on November 2, 2025, in the Dehat Kotwali area. Moreover, he had as many as 47 serious criminal cases registered against him across different districts, including murder and robbery.

At present, police teams are carrying out an intensive combing operation in the area to trace and arrest the absconding accomplice.
