After the violence in Sambhal, continuous measures are being taken to strengthen law and order. In this context, a new police outpost has been built at the site of the unrest. Its inauguration was done by the DM and SP on Vijayadashami.
The police outpost was inaugurated on Thursday (2 October) in Hindupura Khera, under Nakhasa police station. DM Dr Rajendra Painsia, SP Krishna Kumar Vishnoi, ASP Kuldeep Singh, and Asmoli CO Kuldeep Singh were present at the ceremony.
The inauguration was done by a five-year-old girl, Ayesha, from Hindupura Khera. Officials performed a formal havan and pooja. This outpost was built at the same place where, on 24 November, during a Jama Masjid survey, a crowd gathered and attacked police and administrative officers.
The SP said that at that time, there was tension near the Jama Masjid. After controlling the disturbance, when officers went to maintain peace with forces, the crowd at Hindupura Khera attacked and set police vehicles on fire.
The outpost has been established at the same location where the violence occurred. It was inaugurated on Vijayadashami to symbolically mark the end of evil.
The SP said that since that incident, security has been strengthened at key city locations. A Satyavrat outpost was built near Jama Masjid, from where the police control room operates.
Also, 39 new outposts are being constructed across the district, where security forces will be stationed. CCTV cameras have also been installed at major locations in Sambhal city.
What happened on November 24?
Regarding the dispute related to Jama Masjid and Harihar Temple, a survey team arrived in the presence of police and administration to comply with the order of Chandausi Civil Judge (Senior Division) Aditya Singh. But conducting the survey inside the mosque turned into a big challenge. In fact, on November 19, the administration had informed the mosque head and committee members and allowed only a limited number of people to enter. However, the rules were not followed and several unauthorized people also went inside.
As the crowd grew larger, the survey had to be left incomplete on the first day and was postponed. For this reason, November 24 was fixed as the new date to conduct the survey again.
