According to JCP (Law & Order) Babloo Kumar, Section 163 has been enforced considering upcoming events such as Guru Tegh Bahadur Jayanti, Black Day, Christmas, New Year, and Makar Sankranti. Without prior permission, protests will not be allowed anywhere except the designated protest site. Drone shooting will also be banned within a one-kilometre radius of government offices and the Vidhan Bhavan.

SIR: 50% of Voters in UP Successfully Mapped

So far, 50% of voters in Uttar Pradesh have been mapped using the 2003 electoral roll. This means these voters will no longer need to provide additional documents to register. Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa stated that the first phase of the SIR drive will continue until 4 December. Distribution of enumeration forms to all 15.44 crore voters is underway. The draft voter list will be published on 9 December.

Mayor Checks IDs of Ramki Employees to Identify Bangladeshis

To identify illegal Bangladeshi and Rohingya residents in the capital, Mayor Sushma Kharakwal conducted an inspection on Tuesday (November 18) morning of employees working under Lucknow’s sanitation project (Ramki) in Gomtinagar. No Bangladeshi was found during the checks.

The Mayor also inspected the portable compactor transfer station in Vineet Khand-6, verifying the documents of sanitation workers—especially those claiming to be from Assam. Ramki’s project head Abhay Ranjan was present during the inspection. The Mayor instructed officials not to appoint any worker without proper identification and complete verification. Verification of all sanitation staff, helpers, and other personnel has been made mandatory. BJP councillors Sanjay Singh Rathore, Arun Rai, Prithvi Gupta, and Zonal Officer Shilpa Kumari were also present.
