UP Accounts for 21% of India’s Agricultural Production as CM Yogi Launches Kisan Pathshala

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has stated that Uttar Pradesh holds 11% of the country’s total agricultural land, yet contributes 21% to India’s overall farm output. This clearly indicates that the state’s farmers are not only hardworking but also equipped with strong innovative capabilities. The government is undertaking special efforts to modernise agriculture and promote advanced technologies across 28 districts with an investment of Rs 4,000 crore.

Speaking on Friday at a farmers’ conference held at the farm of Padma Shri awardee and progressive farmer Ramsaran Verma in Daulatpur village of Harkh block, the Chief Minister inaugurated the Kisan Pathshala and the Progressive Farmers’ Conference. He said that the double-engine BJP government has launched several initiatives to increase farmers’ income. Furthermore, higher Minimum Support Prices, the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, expanded irrigation facilities, and subsidies on agricultural machinery have provided significant relief to farmers.

Boosting Income Through Advanced and Diversified Farming

CM Yogi emphasised that, along with traditional farming, farmers can substantially increase their income by moving toward high-value crops, vegetables, fruit cultivation, and natural farming. Citing the example of Padma Shri Ramsaran Verma, he noted that scientific methods and innovation can deliver remarkable yields even on limited land.

Consequently, the government is encouraging farmers to adopt such practices.

He added that farmers are the backbone of India’s economy, and a prosperous India cannot be imagined without their progress. Moreover, the government is strengthening farmer training programs, model farms, and market linkages in every district. He assured that efforts to make agriculture profitable will continue, and farmer welfare will remain the government’s highest priority.
