On the occasion of Police Commemoration Day, a grand ceremony was organised today (October 21) in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, where CM Yogi was present. On this solemn occasion, he paid tribute to the brave martyrs of the Uttar Pradesh Police who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
In his address, CM stated that among the police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty during the year 2024–25, three courageous officers belonged to the Uttar Pradesh Police. He honoured their bravery and sacrifice and assured their families that the state government is and will continue to remain fully committed to their welfare and support with utmost sensitivity.
Government’s Commitment to Martyrs’ Families
CM Yogi emphasised that no martyr’s family should face any difficulty, and the government is taking all necessary steps in this direction. He reiterated that his government has always stood by the families of fallen police personnel and will continue to do so in the future.
Role of Police in the Digital Age and Preparations Against Cybercrime
CM noted that while the digital revolution has simplified everyday life, it has also introduced new challenges such as cybercrime. To deal with these effectively, the Uttar Pradesh Police has formulated a robust strategy and is working to enhance its technological capabilities.
60,244 New Recruits Receiving Modern Training
In a major step towards strengthening law and order, 60,244 newly recruited police personnel are being trained under a hybrid model. This training combines traditional physical and legal modules with technical skills, cybercrime investigation, sensitive communication, artificial intelligence-based models, and simulation exercises.
CM described this initiative as a pioneering step toward preparing a new-generation police force, saying it will give rise to a strong and capable police unit by combining land, technology, and empathy.
Strengthening Law and Order is the Government’s Top Priority
Yogi Adityanath reaffirmed the government’s policy of “zero tolerance” toward crime and criminals. He shared that between May 31, 2017, and September 27, 2025, more than 87 million individuals were checked at over 28.5 million locations during foot patrolling exercises, reflecting the police force’s active role in maintaining law and order.
He also stated that since the formation of the current government, over 219,000 police personnel have been recruited, providing new strength and energy to the police force.
Police Commemoration Day is not merely an occasion to pay homage but a reminder of the responsibilities, sacrifices, and crucial role of our security sentinels in society. The announcements made by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reflect the Uttar Pradesh Government’s commitment to strengthening law and order and modernising the police force with cutting-edge technology—ensuring a sense of security among citizens and instilling a fear of law among wrongdoers.
