CM Yogi urged people to remain alert against those who divide society and the nation in the name of caste, region, or language, warning that such actions mirror historical betrayal. He said many forces attempt to break the country, some using caste, others exploiting regional or linguistic identities.
According to him, when such elements gain power, they focus only on personal and family interests, accumulate wealth, and weaken the nation. In contrast, short-term promises based on identity politics cannot bring real welfare. Truenational progress, he stressed, is possible only through unity, equality, and the absence of discrimination.
Speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of a large auditorium named after India’s first Chief of Defence Staff, late General Bipin Rawat, at Sainik School Gorakhpur, the Chief Minister paid tribute to the legendary military leader. On this occasion, he unveiled General Rawat’s statue, released a booklet on his life, and recalled his service to the nation. He also urged citizens to adopt Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Panch Pran (five pledges) as guiding principles to build a developed and strong India.
Furthermore, he emphasised that no true Indian would wish for a weak or insecure nation, adding that anyone opposing this vision cannot claim genuine patriotism.
General Bipin Rawat’s Legacy and the Panch Pran Vision
Remembering General Rawat, CM Yogi highlighted his deep devotion to the motherland, emotional bond with the country, and simple nature that touched many hearts. Under his leadership, the armed forces carried out major operations and systemic reforms. The Chief Minister said linking General Rawat’s memory with the Sainik School in Gorakhpur is a proud moment for the state, as the new auditorium will continuously remind students of his contribution.
Explaining the Panch Pran, CM Yogi stressed the need to end colonial mindsets, respect the armed forces, and strengthen social harmony. For instance, he said India should celebrate its own heroes like Maharana Pratap, Chhatrapati Shivaji, and General Bipin Rawat instead of glorifying foreign invaders. He also reminded citizens that peaceful sleep at home is possible only because soldiers guard the borders. Similarly, unity and a strong sense of “Indianness” in every citizen are essential for national progress.
Finally, CM Yogi spoke about discipline, stating that without it, chaos enters life. Therefore, students should draw inspiration from General Rawat’s disciplined life. He also announced that Sainik School Gorakhpur, which includes reserved seats for girls, should observe 8 December every year as Inspiration Day to honor General Rawat and all martyrs.
In conclusion, he expressed gratitude to the General Bipin Rawat Memorial Foundation and his daughters, calling it a matter of pride for any family to dedicate a loved one to the nation.
