UP Government to Offer 1.5 Lakh Government Jobs in 2026 Under Mission Rozgar

According to sources, CM recently asked officials to submit details of vacant posts in their departments. After reviewing these vacancies, the government approved large-scale recruitment for 2026.

The Yogi Adityanath-led UP government is preparing to give a major boost to employment in the new year. In 2026, the state will offer around 1.5 lakh government jobs across various departments. This decision was taken after CM Yogi reviewed department-wise vacant posts with senior officials.

Big Push for Government Recruitment

According to sources, CM recently asked officials to submit details of vacant posts in their departments. After reviewing these vacancies, the government approved large-scale recruitment for 2026. These jobs will be offered in departments such as education, police, revenue, housing development, health, and prisons.

Meanwhile, the police and education departments will see the highest number of recruitments, making them the main focus areas.

Police and Education to Get Maximum Posts

As per preliminary estimates, the government may issue advertisements for around 50,000 posts each in the police and education sectors.

In the police department, recruitment is expected for 30,000 constables and 5,000 sub-inspectors.

Similarly, in the education sector, posts will be filled from assistant teachers to lecturers and principals.

In addition, the revenue department is likely to recruit nearly 20,000 candidates, mainly for the post of Lekhpal.

Advertisements to Be Issued Soon

Officials said that the recruitment process in several departments is already in the final stage. Therefore, advertisements are expected to be released soon. Some departments have already started preliminary procedures.

Once these recruitments are completed, the Yogi government will become the first UP government to provide 10 lakh government jobs within 10 years.

Over 8.5 Lakh Jobs Already Given

According to official data, the UP government has already provided more than 8.5 lakh government jobs in the last eight and a half years. The government claims that all recruitments were conducted in a transparent and merit-based manner.

As a result, public trust among youth has strengthened, especially when compared to earlier governments, which were often accused of irregularities in recruitment.

Mission Rozgar Launched to Tackle Unemployment

However, the government acknowledges that it is not possible to provide government jobs to everyone. Currently, UP has about 12 lakh permanent government employees, along with over 2 lakh contractual and 4.5 lakh outsourced workers.

At the same time, the number of registered unemployed youth in UP is over 41 lakh, while experts estimate the actual figure to be much higher.

Therefore, the government has launched Mission Rozgar to connect youth with employment opportunities in both India and abroad.

How Mission Rozgar Will Work

Under Mission Rozgar, the state will identify job opportunities in government and private sectors, both domestically and internationally.

In addition, foreign embassies and employment agencies will help identify overseas vacancies.

If suitable candidates are not readily available, training and skill development programs will be provided to prepare youth for specific jobs.

Moreover, employment fairs and online interviews will be used to match candidates with employers.

Importantly, once a candidate is placed, the government will track their employment for three years, as long-term retention is considered key to stable careers.

With large-scale recruitment and Mission Rozgar working in parallel, the UP government aims to reduce unemployment largely.
