Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the formation of specialised units in every region to deal with chemical, biological, and radiological accidents, as well as emergencies in super high-rise buildings. He emphasised that the fire service should be equipped with modern tools and well-trained personnel to ensure quick, efficient, and effective response during any emergency.
CM said that since this department is directly connected with the safety of people and their property, its structure must enable immediate and accountable action in all situations.
Creation of 98 Gazetted and 922 Non-Gazetted Posts
In the meeting, the Chief Minister approved the creation of 98 gazetted and around 922 non-gazetted new posts in the Fire Service Department. This will strengthen administrative efficiency, training systems, and public service quality.
He also instructed that an accounts cadre be set up in every district to ensure financial transparency and administrative efficiency. In addition, he ordered the creation of new posts at the State Fire Training College to improve training and research standards further.
Small Fire Stations Every 100 km on Expressways
Considering the rising number of road accidents, CM directed that small fire outposts be established every 100 kilometres on expressways. These stations will have fire tenders and essential equipment so that rescue operations can start within the “golden hour” after an accident.
Fire Services Deployed at New Airports
Officials informed that fire service personnel have already been deployed at new operational units in Kushinagar, Azamgarh, Shravasti, Kanpur Nagar, Ayodhya, Aligarh, Moradabad, Chitrakoot, and Sonbhadra airports. This ensures the availability of emergency services across different regions of the state.
Timely Completion of Reorganisation Process
The Chief Minister instructed officials to complete the fire service reorganisation in a time-bound manner so that its benefits reach the public soon. He said the department’s working system should be such that it can respond immediately and effectively to any emergency.
Major Step Toward Modernisation and Safety
Following CM Yogi Adityanath’s directives, the state has taken a significant step toward modernising and expanding the fire service. This initiative will not only strengthen public safety but also make the disaster management system more efficient and responsive across Uttar Pradesh.
